"Cape Verde lives up to its name. There, colour is a place, a room, a landscape, a person, a memory and it accentuates the lives and stories of its inhabitants. When I travelled to my boyfriend's native island, Santo Antao, where we visited his family in the summer of 2018, everything felt so familiar yet so foreign. The scent of coriander perfumed the air and meals, vibrated with intensity with its green in my eye and its flavour on my palate, confusing my senses and my ideas. Across the island, I followed its colour and smell, like the street dogs that accompanied me and guided me through unexpected encounters in remarkable places. The journey is lost between a dream and reality, both imaginary and memory, an eternal moment in a suspended world."
